~メキシコ大地の音コンサート&コラボレーションアート展~
Galeria Taishougura is a gallery located in Yodoe-cho, Yonago-shi, Tottori. The gallery used to be an old sake brewery, and still keeps the air of the old times. The exhibition shows art works and live music from Yucatan Peninsula of Mexico, which is well-known as the birthplace of Maya civilization. Local artists also show art works using sake-brewing tools. There will be also Mexican food stalls.

Room Shoes
I've got a pair of room shoes at a small bamboo ware shop in Mihonoseki for 500 yen. I was in love with its simplicity and natural feeling. At a glance, it seems to be sold in many stores in Japan. No, not really. You might be able to find similar slippers, but not as firm and natural as this one. The shoes make my office hours a little bit more fun!

Attended the guided tour to Mt. Daisen Natsuyama Summer Festival
I have attended the guided tour to Mt. Daisen Natsuyama Summer Festival, conducted by Ms. Keiko Hayashi at Seren Environmental Education Office.
The program included
- JOINING THE TORCH PARADE WITH LOCALS
- NIGHT HIKING
- SLEEP OUTSIDE ONLY WITH A SLEEPING BAG UNDER THE STARS :)
- WATCH THE SUN RISE IN THE EARLY MORNING AT THE MOUNTAIN
For detailed itinerary, please see http://www.houki-town.jp/p/15/4/4/2/.
We had the small dinner in the back of the Ogamiyama shrine, waiting for the torch parade to proceed, and joined the parade at the tail of the procession.
You can see the fantastic photos of the torch parade at 大山王国 (DAISEN KINGDOM) website.

Then finally, we went for the night hike!
One of the highlights of the night hike was that we had some time on our own in the compete dark forest.
Six of us (all girls) scattered about (but not too far!), and spent some time alone.
I threw myself down on the ground, and kept watching the stars. It was amazing that my eyes gradually adjusted to the dark, and the number of stars I could recognize increased as time went by. I started to smell the soil, and become sensitive to the small sounds around myself. I felt scared, but it was a fantastic feeling.
In the morning at 7:00am, the program ended. Three Korean girls working at Eastern and Central Tottori joined the program. Thanks for coming all the way to Mt. Daisen!
Let's have fun soon again! :D
